Inés Badalo (b. 1989, Olivenza) is a Spanish-Portuguese guitarist and composer. She studied guitar with Antonio Jorge Gonçalves and Evaristo Valentí and composition with Luís Tinoco at the Superior Music School of Lisbon. At the same time, she complemented her training by attending master classes by composers Franck Yeznikian, Christopher Bochmann, and José Manuel López López. She is currently studying for a PhD in Music and Musicology, Composition, with Pedro Amaral at the University of Évora.
Badalo has received commissions from several official and private institutions including the National Centre of Musical Diffusion (CNDM), Radio and Television of Portugal—Antena 2, Mixtur Festival, Philharmonic Society of Badajoz, Arte no Tempo, Ensems Festival, DGArtes, Densité 93, and National Institute of Performing Arts and Music INAEM, among others.
Badalo is the recipient of scholarships from the Spanish Ministry of Culture and Gulbenkian Foundation. She has received numerous national and international prizes and has participated in many music festivals. Her music has performed by renowned ensembles, soloists and orchestras and has been broadcast on the radio.
