Mirages

Carla Magnan (b. 1968), a native of Genoa, Italy, is a composer and harpsichordist with an extensive catalogue of orchestral, operatic, chamber and solo compositions. Her language stems both from classical forms going back as far as the baroque, and the most daring experimental composing techniques of today. Her works have been commissioned by ensembles such as the Fíari Ensemble of Torino, Orchestra Milano Classica, the Freon Ensemble of Rome, Contempoartensemble of Florence, Festival di Nuova Consonanza (Roma), Festival Osmose (Belgium), World Flute Festival (New Dehli), The Portland Chamber Music Festival (USA), Gare Du Nord (Basel), and others. Her works have been extensively performed by chamber and orchestral ensembles in Argentina, Austria, China, Croatia, Estonia, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Switzerland, Slovenia and the United States.
