Works performed by Earplay:

im Rückblick

The recent works of composer Daniel Tacke (b. 1985) have focused on expanded vocabularies of sound and gesture stemming from specialized instrumental techniques, the roles of human embodiment and memory in the experience of listening, and intersections between contemporary and historical practices of composition and performance. He is a member of the American Composers Alliance, and his music has been performed and recorded in the United States and abroad by Duo Echoi, Ensemble Bonne Action, the Formalist Quartet, the Kenners, the Palimpsest New Music Ensemble, and the Red Light New Music Ensemble, among others. He studied composition at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and the University of California at San Diego and has held professorships at Oberlin Conservatory and Arkansas State University, where he currently teaches theory, composition, and harpsichord performance.
